Description: Cilostazol, also known as Pletal, is a selective inhibitor of type III phosphodiesterase (PDE-III), a cyclic nucleotide-specific enzyme that degrades cAMP (adenosine monophosphate). Inhibiting this enzyme increases cAMP levels, which increases blood flow. Cilostazol can improve blood flow in patients with peripheral vascular disease.
