Description: A daily dose of aspirin reduces the risk of heart disease by 25% and stroke by about 50%. Rosuvastatin is a statin, a class of drugs commonly prescribed for hyperlipidemia and the prevention of cardiovascular events. Statins inhibit HMG CoA reductase, the rate limiting step of mevalonate synthesis, and thus block the biosynthetic pathway leading to the production of cholesterol and its derivatives. Clopidogrel is a third generation thienopyridine prodrug (a type of ADP receptor antagonist). Its mechanism of action involves inhibition of adenosine diphosphate (ADP)-induced aggregation of human platelets.
